Weekend in Review

Friday ~ Groceries in the morning, picked up a little bit, then went for a walk with Robyn, Cohen and our dogs.



Once home, I worked on some crochet projects, took a small nap, made dinner then headed over to Robyn's. We tried to have a fire, but it was way too windy. So we hung out with Cohen and played Yahtzee.

Saturday ~ Ran some errand with the hubby, then worked on the windows and some crochet projects. Hung out at home binge watching some shows that Christopher got for me.

Sunday ~ church and lunch with the hubby. Home to relax for a while, then it was off to meet up with Mel and Stacey for dinner. So nice to catch up with them.

Throwback Thursday

While I was in my craft room, organizing and getting things ready for the complete makeover reveal I found these pictures.

This was back when I was a member of a mom board. We planned a get together with a bunch of the moms, along with a contest of some sorts if I remember correctly, in honor of Jill and her twins.. This was to be held on the other side of the state (Michigan), and I was allowed to bring two other moms with me. So I had my friend Megan and her daughter and Amanda and her two kids tag along. It was a fun time, getting to meet some of the moms for the first time after talking for so long online.

Friday ~ The usual Friday thing....groceries in the morning. Cleaned up the backyard from the dog's mess...oh the fun! Blech! Worked on some crochet projects.







Then it was off to my friend Robyn's. We headed over to Countryside Greenhouse to look for plants/flowers (I didn't find anything I really wanted), then back to her place for girls night. We had our first fire of the season.

Aden said..... a selfie, let's do this ~ he is usually inside glued to one of his electronics.


We didn't have any grahmn crackers for our s'mores, so we used fudge stripe cookies, as well as reces peanut butter cups for our chocolate. Yum!

Saturday ~ My day didn't go as I had planned. I did go get John's new phone... he has finally joined the smart phone world! As I was getting ready to leave to go get said phone the oldest calls, and from the sound of his voice I knew he had done something..... so off to his house to take him to the med center as he think he broke his foot the night before jumping down out of his friends truck. Its a truck that is lifted, so it was a high jump; he landed on a weird shaped rock (as he says) and knew he did something.

Sure enough, the xrays show a hairline fracture called a Jones fracture. Got him food, then picked up the hubby so he could get guitar strings, and stopped at the store to get the boy his meds (I had a coupon for $20 if you dropped off a new script that expires on the 4th to use at your next purchase), and some jeans for the hubby.


Sunday ~ Church in the morning. We went to our Sunday usual for lunch at Bud & Stanley's, then stopped at Jazzy Junk to look around, I found a desk that I am thinking I am going to go back and get for my craft room. We then went over to my inlaws to visit for a little while.

Housewarming gift

A friend just bought their first house and I knew what I wanted to make for a housewarming gift. So off to the internet to search for a fun pattern to try out. My favorite site to browse for free patterns is Ravelry. I found this pattern that had a dishcloth, hot pat and a scrubbie, from this site, title Citrus Splash Kitchen Set. I love the springy colors!

For Today... April 20th, 2015

Outside my window... Its gray overcast and drizzling. I want to go back to Southern Ohio to where things were sunny, green and blooming everywhere!!

I am thinking... that I need to make an appointment to get get a pedicure. I know that I can do my own nails, but I need a little TLC of a pedicure spa.

I am thankful... that this weekend didn't end on a sad note. My friends brother inlaw, who was very sick last week, made a complete recovery and is now home from the hospital.

I am wearing... a gray hoodie and black yoga pants

I am creating... I am still working on the same crochet projects.

I am going... to do some baking today

I am wondering... why some people can be so blind, or be snowed over with things! One by one..slowly they start to open their eyes and see the real truth.

I am reading... right now, I am not reading anything.

I am hoping... that it really doesn't snow this week

I am learning... Still learning the keyboard

In my garden... I have flowers blooming... guess I had planted some tulip bulbs in the past. These haven't sprouted in the last few years! Weird! I need to get out there and do some weeding and figure out what I want to do in there.


In my kitchen... Menu for the week:
Monday ~ spaghetti, garlic bread and salad
Tuesday ~ ham and egg bake
Wednesday ~ Pizza
Thursday ~ leftovers
Friday ~ burgers, tater salad and macaroni salad

A peek into one of my days... Road trip with my friend this weekend


One of my favorite things... New car fresheners. I love getting into my car after it has sat for a few days and its filled with whatever freshener I have in there. Right now its green apple! Yum!

Friday ~ Road trip to Ohio. I went with my friend Robyn to visit with her sister and family, as her brother inlaw wasn't doing well.


After Emily almost set herself on fire, we grilled burgers and sat up late talking.

Gorgeous sunset.... I so want her backyard just to see this every night while sitting on the deck!


Saturday ~ Robert was home from the hospital. We went and did a little shopping then enjoyed the beautiful weather they were having. Everything is so green and blooming down there!

They have a huge dog... he is only 10 months old!


Gabe is a very busy soon to be 3 year old!


He had lots of fun with his bubbles




Sunday ~ Packed up, said goodbyes and headed north. We stopped at a few stores to try and find some Ohio stuff, didn't have very much luck.

So thankful that Robert is doing much better and home with his family! The visit was fun, but I am glad to be home.

Friday ~ Grocery shopping, spent way to much. Did some much needed housework, made steak, baked potatoes and salad for dinner. Had an at home date night with the hubby and watched a couple of movies; Captive - it was ok... not a fan of movies doing flash backs; and then The Fury - good movie! I let out a couple of rather loud gasps, one freaking the dog out..oops.

Saturday ~ John went over to his parents so he could work on his car (our garage has way to much junk in it (that will be emptied this coming weekend when we pack it all up and make a dump run!). I got caught up on a few shows.

Gave myself a manicure. I have been wanting some Jamberry nails, but just can't justify the cost right now, so I was happy to find some at Meijer.


Then it was time to head out for girls night; picked up Robyn then went to Brann's to meet up with Cary for dinner


Then over to the Chicago Pub for drinks


Sunday ~ church in the morning, lunch at Bud and Stanley's with my hubby; then home where I took a nap (so good to do on a Sunday afternoon!). Then made some cookies


To finish off the weekend: Walkers! I can't believe that next week is the season finale. Its going to be a long summer until it starts back up in Oct!!

The little things

Went shopping today with a friend to do one of my least favorite shopping trips: the dreaded bra shopping trip. I am still scarred from one of the last shopping trips, as I walked out after trying on, I kid you not, 60+ bras with not one in hand, and lots of tears!



Today's outing was much better! I had 3 in hand to try on, and my friend found 2 more and brought them into the fitting room for me to try on as well. So 5 altogether, so much better than the 60+. One of the first ones I tried on was perfect! It kept the girls in place, and so very comfortable! So back out to grab one more in that stay, just a different color, and out the door we went. We were in the store no more than 15 minutes! Success!

Its the little things I tell ya that makes a girl happy!

Then it was off to Jo-Ann's to get my Ott light to replace my halogen one that broke on me last night. I do have to say I got my money's worth out of the halogen lamp! I had it for over 20 years. Still unsure how it snapped off the base!



This is the one I got, wish they would have had purple, as I would have snatched that up! Love the 50% off, plus I had a $5 off $35 coupon that could be used on sale items! I also picked up a couple more skeins of bulky yarn to make another arm knitted scarf in shades of purple. I posted the first one I made here, and then this morning I made this one before I went out shopping. I see more of these in my future, as they are great accessories for an outfit!!

Tis the season

For all of those annoying political calls, that is. After seeing the same number pop up on the TV screen several times in an hour, I decide to pick up the phone an answer like this: "Joe's Pizza, what can I get you tonight?" The response, "Oh, I'm sorry, I dialed the wrong number." They have yet to call back after this.

A heads up for any future callers, whether it be a political ad, an insurance agent like don allred, or even friends/family this is what you will hear as I answer the phone if I don't recognize your number. So if I offend anyone, sorry in advance.

Friday ~ Another rainy day here in Michigan, which put me in the "I don't want to do or go anywhere" mood after I got home from work So I hung out at home, watched a couple of movies with my hubby and worked on some crochet projects.

Saturday ~ Groceries first thing in the morning, then home to do some housework and yard work before we headed out for some graduation open houses. First one was in Clarksville for a family friend, Austin. We caught up a little bit with his mom and dad, never enough time to talk at these parties. We need to plan a get together one of these days. Then it was off to Cedar Springs for my niece Abby's party.

Sunday ~ I did laundry and finished up the housework and did the baking for the week. The rest of the day was a lazy one of watching movies, crochet and napping. We grilled some pork chops to go with our loaded mashed potatoes, corn and fruit, then I was off to Sparta for family ice cream at Sundae's in the Park.

First day of Summer

Its the first day of summer and its a gorgeous day out! I am getting ready to go out and do some yard work then get ready for some graduation open houses for a family friend and my niece.

I am starting to feel myself again; its been one long year! I am ready to start making some changes, starting with getting myself back on track with working out and losing all of the horrible weight! John is going to get our bikes back in working order so we can go on bike rides. I don't know if I will be up for the long ones like he and Trent used to do, but we can work up to it!

So happy first day of Summer! Get out and enjoy this beautiful day!

Friday ~ Went grocery shopping in the morning, then off for a day of fun with friends with lunch and bowling.




Saturday ~ Lazy day, finished up some crochet projects and vegged for the day.


Sunday ~ I had a Tastefully Simple meeting, and made this yummy fruit salad using our Fuzzy Navel Slush bucket.



John and I went and checked out an open house, got some great pointers from the realtor, and hoping that all goes well this time around when we talk to him about listing our house.

The rest of the evening was pretty quiet, as there was no Zombies on, going to be a long summmer! I did get a few cute pictures of Lici. I think she is finally getting over her camera shyness!
