Weekend in Review

I have started a new meme, called Weekend in Review.  I had participated in one like this a while ago, but it has long since stopped.  I liked writing down what I had down over the weekend, whether it was filled with lots activity or just a lazy weekend, so I went ahead and started my own version of this meme.

Friday ~ The start of this day was annoyed and then went to hell in a hand basket! Tried logging into my bank account on my phone.. only to get "can't verify your account" several times. Logged in via laptop, same thing... so did a reset password... got that worked out then headed out to do the grocery shopping....

Got through the store, after being extremely frustrated as they didn't have much of anything on the shelves that I needed, and then into the meat area and no stinkin ground chicken anywhere.. grrr... Lici may just have to go back to regular dog food... get to check out... go to pull out my wallet... to find no wallet... wth.. so suspended my order went back home, got the wallet that I had left on the chaise, when I was dealing with the stinking bank account.... back to Meijer to get my groceries. Stopped at Ken's to see if they had ground chicken.. nope.. then Family Fare.. none there only ground turkey.. so picked that up in frustration.

The search will be on for ground chicken...

John and I went and did some shopping.. we needed some parts for the kitchen faucet and the bathtub, so first stop was Ace Hardware. Next stop was to find some work shoes for him, and I got lucky and picked up a pair of dressy sandals. The next stop ws Chowhound to redeem Lici's birthday coupon. We picked out a new toy for her. Stopped at church so he could pick up his guitar to do some work on it. Then home for the night to veg.

Saturday ~ was a lazy day. I did get Lici's dog food made, but the rest of the day was lounging around, worked on the afghans, and cleaned out the DVR.

Sunday ~ Happy Resurrection Sunday! Happy Easter! Church in the am, then over to the inlaws for lunch and a family get together. Once home, worked on my temp afghan.

Friday ~ Grocery shopping in the morning, did a little shopping, that later turned into a return trip to return some items... one of the stores you aren't allowed to try on before hand, so once home I found out that a few items didn't fit, and one I just didn't like it on me.. ugh. The remainder of the day I had planned on just vegging with the pup and was going to crochet.... but got a text from a friend asking if I wanted to go out for dinner for my bday. I said sure! Texted the hubs to let him know what was going on, and that there was leftovers in the fridge for him.

Met up with Jeanine at Olive Garden for dinner.. we usually go to a Mexican restaurant, but had to nix those plans as Mexican was on the plans for the next night with my hubs. We had a yummy dinner and great conversations. Love catching up with her... and it was the 2nd week in a row, as she was the one I met up with last Friday for a funeral we attended.

Saturday ~ All about me today.... its my birthday! Had a lazy morning then got ready to go out for dinner with the hubs at the Betline Bar. They have the best wet burritos! Then it was kayak shopping time. We hit up Dick's, Cabellas and Dunham's. I think this is the one I am going to get. Happy Birthday to me!!

Sunday ~ Church in the morning...upon leaving church this is what we saw

By the time I got home (which is like a 3 minute drive) this was my back yard

5 hours later, we have about 2 inches of snow....yuck!

I made some minestrone soup and homemade bread for lunch, started laundry, worked on afghan, and squeezed in a short nap. And that wraps up the weekend in review!

Friday ~ Grocery shopping in the morning, worked on a video, crocheted for a bit, then headed north to meet up with a friend to attend a memorial. The service was nice. Two other classmates (and a spouse) were there, we didn't stay for the meal afterwards. The 5 of us went out to dinner and to catch up. It was nice seeing Dan and Curt, but wish it were under different circumstances!

Saturday ~ The hubs had to work, so I worked in the craft room for a bit... got a little frustrated at times, but finally got my wreath completed, as well as a hat. Tried out a new recipe for Tasty Tuesday, and it was a horrible fail, which frustrated me more! As I was getting ready to start dinner the youngest stopped over, so caught up with him about his vacation. He stayed for dinner, and he and John put in some speakers in his truck.

Sunday ~ Church in the morning, made a yummy steak dinner, watched the Tigers - yay they won! Took a short nap, worked on my temp afghan and then John and I watched The Highwaymen on Netflix.

Friday ~ Grocery shopping in the morning, took a short nap, then took Lici out for a walk and then waited for John to get home from work.

Saturday ~ I was still in my funk, so I hung out at home and crocheted while the hubs went to visit a friend. On his way home he texted to see if I wanted to go out for dinner. So I hurried to make myself look half way decent and off we went Texas Roadhouse for dinner, then home for the night.

Sunday ~ Church in the morning, home for lunch and a nap, then off to the inlaws for a visit.

Friday ~ I was to have a busy Friday, trying to get everything done that would normally be done on Saturday as we were to be gone all day. Grocery shopping, make Lici's food - got this done.

I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to look for a George Foreman grill, as the grill I bought off a stupid infomercial turned out to be junk and was sent back. The grill in question was the Power Smokeless Indoor Grill. I will do a separate post on my review of this item! BBB didn't have any Foreman grills, so my next stop was Target, and found one.

Once back home, next on my list to get done was to work on my planner, I wanted to do a crochet tutorial and work on my Bible Study. They all went out the window, as I was exhausted... due to the insomnia that decided to creep into my wee morning hours. I ended up falling asleep and crashed for hours. The plans we had for the night, we cancelled as my hubs was still not feeling well at all.

Saturday ~ Plans for today were cancelled due to the lovely sickness that invaded the hubs body... and I guess I was still reeling from exhaustion... as I slept in until almost 10... which is so not me.. I am usually up by 6, 7 at the latest on the weekends. Our day consisted of just lounging around the house. I worked on my crochet projects, the hubs played the guitar for bit, then we watched some movies.


Sunday ~ was a repeat of Saturday. I was up a little earlier than Saturday, but later than my norm. We missed church. No movies for the day, but lots of veggin. I did manage to work on my planner for the week, and eeked out that crochet tutorial. I am hoping that this week will be much better with no sleepy/sickies messing with us!

Friday ~ groceries in the morning, then back to working on the floor

Saturday ~ We went to Menards to pick up some trim/molding to finish up the flooring. Took a break for dinner, then back at it. Finally around 9ish it was time to start moving all the stuff back into my craft room. John helped with the big items, then I spent the next few hours getting everything back in its place. I am so in love with the floor (which you can see the process in this post.

Sunday ~ We went out to breakfast, and so wished we would have stayed at Bob Evans as we were sadly disappointed in IHOP... the service was very slow, the food was horrible, I swear the eggs were from the day before and the host and waitress was rude. When the waitress did finally come by and asked if things were ok, I said no, the eggs are horrible, she only said, oh and started to walk away, my husband said and the service is slow.. she could have cared less. This was the first time I have never left a tip.. and in place of it, I left an explantion as to why.

Once back home I started laundry, re-read the chapter for our Bible study for the women's meeting, worked on my next 3 rows of the temp afghan, then off to church for the Men's/Women's meeting.

Friday ~
Got the hubs off work, made sure Lici was doing ok, then headed off to get groceries. Had some time to kill before the nail salon opened up so worked in the craft room a bit and put together these plants to add some greenery in my house. Got my nails done, then home for then just chilled the rest of the day with the pup until John got home. Made dinner, and then hung out with the hubs.

Saturday ~
Made some donuts for my Tasty Tuesday video, they were oh so good! Went to the video stored to pick up some movies, as John and I were going to have a very lay Saturday, we watched: Skyscraper, Grand Daddy Daycare, Hunter Killer and Mill 22 (and I still have Mama Mia Here We Go Again to watch). That was it for Saturday.

Sunday ~
Church in the morning, then home to brace for the next round of storms. We had very high winds, so our ladies/mens meeting was cancelled for the night. So a Sunday afternoon nap was on the agenda, and oh how nice that was!! Worked on finishing up an afghan, and put in the next 3 rows of my year long temp afghan project. And that is a wrap on the weekend.

Friday ~ The morning started off snowy. As I was heading out the door I pulled the string to the light on the ceiling fan in the kitchen, when bam...one of the fan blades snapped off (the fan was not on). It scared the bejesus out of me! The trek to the grocery store was a slow going one...what normally is a 5 minute drive took over 20 minutes. Got everything needed, then back out into the cold to head home, still a slow, long ride home.

No venturing back out for me! I continued on with the cleaning/purging/organizing of the home. Today was tackling the desk and filing cabinets. Lots of junk was thrown out and things put in their rightful place. Now to make sure the hubs keeps it neat and tidy!! (no before or after pics...forgot)

Saturday ~ Up early, let Lici out, which was a do your biz fast and back in for her.. it was bitter cold out! Then off to figure out whats going on with my laptop... the keyboard is acting possessed.... still unsure whats going on... so doing postt his is making my job so much harder now! Grrrr.

My plans for the day have been cancelled by the host as the weather is not being nice. So instead I am went with the hubs when he gets his hair. We grabbed a bite to eat, picked up a few things at Meijer, then headed back home. I made a batch of Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies for a Tasty Tuesday Video. Vegged for the remainder of the day/night

Sunday ~ Church in the morning, stopped as Jimmy Johns for subs, then off to a baby shower for me. Later in the evening we had our Mens/Women's Bible study. Once we were finally home I worked on my temperature afghan and got my three rows in. It was a busy, but fun day spent with family and friends.

Friday ~ Celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary - the hubs had to work, so I went on with my normal Friday routine, groceries in the morning, ran a few errands, and then met a friend for lunch, to discuss/make plans to do a class reunion. Once back home, worked on a video, then made dinner - steak, baked tater, salad and a dessert, that didn't really turn out well (the dessert that is), then just hung out with the hubs.

Saturday ~ Anniversary getaway with the hubs. We had no specific destination in mind, just jumped in the car and took off. Our usual anniversary thing to do is to go antiquing... and thats what we did. We ended up in Mishawaka and South Bend, Indiana. We got a hotel for the night in South Bend, and not thinking that it was St. Patty's day and being so close to Norte Dame - the fighting Irish, boy oh boy was it busy down there! We had fun none the less. Had dinner at Outback, then back to the hotel to veg.

Sunday ~ Day 2 of anniversary weekend. Breakfast at IHOP, then off to hit 3 more shops on the way home. We had a great weekend away. Now for all the goodies I got...lots of cute Easter related items (not antiques, but thrifty kind of items!)

Friday ~ Took Trent to work (so ready for his truck to be out of the shop!), got groceries on the way home. Ran errands, worked on a video, cleaned house, then off to pick him up from work. Stopped at Style Dots to pick up my order. Dinner was leftovers, fend for yourself kind of night. Vegged for the rest of the night.

Saturday ~ got caught up on the DVR in the morning, worked on planner, then off for a day date with the hubs. Went to Barnes and Noble to browse and pick up the Whole 30 book, stopped at Guitar Center, lots of changes going on in there: lessons will be starting up soon, may have to look into keyboard lessons! Then dinner at Culver's. The rest of the day/night I spent reading the new book....very interesting read! Excited to try some new recipes

Sunday ~ church in the am, then home for lunch with the boys. Celebrated Christopher's 30th, finally. Grilled steaks - well he did..., he requested sweet potatoes, green bean casserole and Hawaiian sweet rolls - yummy lunch! The inlaws came over for dessert later, then hung out for a few hours. Great weekend with family! I am slacking in the photo taking department....didn't take one pic....shame! LOL

Friday ~ Grocery shopping in the morning, home for a quick shower, then off to run some errands. Worked on a few videos, and finished up a few craft projects until time to start dinner. Watched a little TV then off to bed

Saturday ~ the hubs had to work (boo), so worked on my planner, a few more videos, then lots of editing. Made dinner and then hung out with the hubs.

Sunday ~ church in the morning, finished up a purse, added the lining and watched football with the hubs. Had a very low key weekend.

Friday ~ I braved the bitter cold and icy roads and went out and got groceries, then off to get Lici's nails trimmed, as well as getting mine done. Then home to work in my craft room, edited a video, made dinner and then vegged with the hubs once he got home from work.

Saturday ~ ran to the store to pick up a few things I forgot for a recipe, then home to help the hubs with the dishwasher.... why, oh why do projects that you think will be so easy to fix, turn into a disaster?? Still no working dishwasher, have to go get a replacement hose.

Sunday ~ church in the morning, then home to just kick back and relax with the playoff football games. The youngest texted us saying he was bringing over the first round of his stuff to move back home. Which in turn became 2 trips and he is now officially moved back home. This will be an adjustment as its been a long 4.5 years of us being empty nesters. This is what is left in the living room that he needs to get in his room BEFORE he goes to work Monday night!

Friday ~ Grocery shopping and errands, worked on shower things


Saturday ~ worked on planner, went with the hubs to get his hair cut and out for lunch. Worked on afghan, and kicked myself as I messed up - back to Joann's to get more fabric. Hung out on the deck with the hubs and shot a pellet gun


Sunday ~ church, out for lunch stopped at Lowe's then power washed the house and did some maintenance on it. The rest of the night was pretty low key.
