Preparing for the show

 photo 64f005ea-837d-452e-8fd5-cef021ac3d59_zpsg6bk4750.jpg

I am working on lots of fun and cute items for an upcoming craft show for this Fall. I am hoping that the things I am making will be a hit! What doesn't sell, I will be putting in my Etsy store. I love making the cute little cozies, the Owls are my favorite. I have some fun little buttons, and different earrings that I am going to be putting on some of the plain cozies.

Isn't he so cute??

I love how this doll set turned out as well.

I will have to see if Kim can make some custom table skirts for our tables, as we need to have 3 sides covered, as well as the top. I need to get my creative side to come out, and think up a cute display and for tags for the items, along with the directions for the rice heating pads. I will have to browse the web to get some ideas.

I want to have a giveaway, but not sure what I want to have for the prize. A collection of the items I am thinking, but not really sure.

The printer will be getting a work out with everything I need to print, I will go through the ink fast yet again! I will need new business cards, as I need to update some web pages. So much to do in the next 3 months! Wish me luck!

The reveal

Its time!! Time for what, you ask. Well, the reveal of my craft room makeover! This has been a room in progress since Christopher moved out, moved back home and then back out again! When he moved back home he was told that he would have to live with the purple walls, as I was not going to let him repaint them.

What the walls looked like before I started, and then primed

With the purple paint, and the tables I was using at the time; the rocker before and after redoing the cushions (I still have to paint this white, and possible redo the cushions, to add more padding)

The little things

 photo fffbcd06-68e4-41ad-9aa2-9656d8f78b5a_zpsebzereed.jpg

Went shopping today with a friend to do one of my least favorite shopping trips: the dreaded bra shopping trip. I am still scarred from one of the last shopping trips, as I walked out after trying on, I kid you not, 60+ bras with not one in hand, and lots of tears!

 photo 339d402b-38f6-4470-a55e-1cbf27b50523_zpsski36pah.jpg

Today's outing was much better! I had 3 in hand to try on, and my friend found 2 more and brought them into the fitting room for me to try on as well. So 5 altogether, so much better than the 60+. One of the first ones I tried on was perfect! It kept the girls in place, and so very comfortable! So back out to grab one more in that stay, just a different color, and out the door we went. We were in the store no more than 15 minutes! Success!

Its the little things I tell ya that makes a girl happy!

Then it was off to Jo-Ann's to get my Ott light to replace my halogen one that broke on me last night. I do have to say I got my money's worth out of the halogen lamp! I had it for over 20 years. Still unsure how it snapped off the base!

 photo 46ffe519-2ff2-4c92-a5a1-2d2b9d36a5fb_zpsp9018e1f.jpg

This is the one I got, wish they would have had purple, as I would have snatched that up! Love the 50% off, plus I had a $5 off $35 coupon that could be used on sale items! I also picked up a couple more skeins of bulky yarn to make another arm knitted scarf in shades of purple. I posted the first one I made here, and then this morning I made this one before I went out shopping. I see more of these in my future, as they are great accessories for an outfit!!

Learned something new

I may be a little late to the arm knitting craze, but I finally figured it out. I know how to knit, but trying to figure it out with my arms, was driving me crazy. I started a few times, and then scrapped it today. But finally said to myself...... you got this so Do It!

 photo c5315c37-d0ea-430a-b2bd-ec9ecb1db8c1_zpscljloc1h.jpg

Now I need to go get some more colorful yarn to make more! So happy with the outcome! It even helped with my mood I was in earlier today as well! I should have been happy all day as we finally had the sun here in Michigan!

Yarn along ~ monster pants

"The Yarn Along began in early Fall 2010 as a way to share knitting projects and good reads; motivating ourselves, and inspiring each other. Every week knitters, and a few crocheters as well, link up and share a photo (or two) of what they are knitting and what they are reading. Knowing that Yarn Along Wednesday is coming up is a great way to stay motivated to finish those projects! And I, for one, am always on the lookout for a great book recommendation as well."

If you enjoy the Yarn Along, I invite you to grab one of Yarn Along's buttons to share on your own blog. She has made them in a rainbow of colors so you can grab the one that suits you best!

I am working on a pair of monster pants. This is the 4th pair I have made over the last couple of weeks, and this pair is working up rather quickly! The finished monkey ones from last week.

I finished the poncho that I was working on last week. It turned out really cute, and the little girl loved it!! I am now working on a pair of knitted monkey pants. This pair is coming along alot faster than the last pair I made.

I am enjoying "The Friendships of Women" book, and learning more things about myself as I read. In the beginning of the book, she mentions how friends are like flowers in a garden. Some friends are annuals, and others are perennials; this is so very true in some of the friends I have had over the years.

I have been a little busy

Some of the items I have made over the last few weeks. I love getting messages on facebook asking if I can make some item or another. I can never tell anyone no, so out come the hooks and needles.

Love this little monkey ensemble ~ hat/diaper cover/3 pairs of booties

And last but not least, this adorable little poncho, that I made for my cousin's little girl for her birthday. Her older sister had to model it, and I'm not sure if she is going to take it off or now, she just may claim it for herself!

I am working on a few more pairs of monster pants, and a couple of bear hooded cowls, so stay tuned!

Business cards

I need to get new business cards printed up again, trying to decide whether I should go through the old place or through this new printing nyc company. I like my old cards, but I want a new design logo, so I am up in arms as to what and where I want to go. My funds are limited as to how much I can spend right now.

Got to get my name out there so I can start making a profit!!

What's yours?

What is your go to site when you need to get your creative juices flowing? For me, this site, Ravelry is my go to site to find fun new things to create. As well as Pinterest. I can spend hours on this site if I am not careful. I have pinned several things I want to make, if my arm holds out.

I am working on a couple of hats right now, that I will have finished this week, then plan on taking a few weeks off to rest the arm, but then jumping right back in, staring with the afghan for the oldest. My plan/goal for Spring craft shows is to have lots of doll clothes (for American Girl dolls and the like) made. As well as some other items that I can mass produce. My Chicago girls weekend fund needs to be built back up!!!

WIP Wednesday

Today is slowly coming to an end, but I still want to get out a new weekly meme. I hope you all play along every week with me! I seem to have several projects going at any given time, and I am curious to know if there are others out there like me! So I am hoping you join in on my new weekly meme of WIP (work in progress) Wednesday. Grab the fun logo below and play along!

 photo 0123e745-4172-4c3d-a1fe-701809da6ff7_zps72e53443.jpg

My work in progress right now, is the logo above. I am working on pair of crocodile stitch slippers. I am loving how this stitch looks. The slippers are a quick project to make, once you get the hang of the pattern! I have made several pairs so far. This time I am finally working on something for just me!

I also have have an afghan in progress for my oldest son, that I am hoping to get back to working on as soon as the slippers are complete. Then it will be back to working on other things to get a stockpile going so I have plenty for any upcoming craft shows I plan on attending!

So what's on your hook/needle?
