Friday ~ Ahhh, back to not working on a Friday! Groceries in the morning, went and got my nails done ~ so pretty


I had an interview, I think it went ok, but not sure I really want this position. We shall see what happens. I am holding out for the interview I had on Tuesday.

The rest of the night I hung out with the hubby, pup and the kitty.

Saturday ~ Worked on some crochet stuff, and finished up a DIY project video, that you can see here. The evening didn't go as planned; we were supposed to go out to dinner, but someone decided to stay sleeping again this weekend. I don't think I am going to plan anymore date nights, its going to be up to him for awhile. I am tired of planning, getting ready and then nothing!

Sunday ~ Church in the morning. We overslept, well I should say the hubby did. I was in a rebellious mood, and decided to not go in and wake, him after the disappointment from last night. It was a very lazy day for me, with not leaving the house, I didn't shower/dress/makeup....nada! I watched a few movies, youtube videos (my new addiction...obsession really), and crocheted the day/night away.

Diy ~ necklace/bracelet holder

So I have ventured into youtube, and have my own channel set up, and have been uploading a few videos and have my first DIY up. I had a couple of these necklace holders already made, but they were too small, and cluttered looking, so I decided to make a bigger one, and did it in a video. (I am still trying to get used to seeing myself on camera... ugh) Anywho, hope you enjoy! And if you like, please subscribe to my youtube channel (trying to grow my fan base.... )

The reveal

Its time!! Time for what, you ask. Well, the reveal of my craft room makeover! This has been a room in progress since Christopher moved out, moved back home and then back out again! When he moved back home he was told that he would have to live with the purple walls, as I was not going to let him repaint them.

3 day Holiday weekend for Memorial Day, so Monday is added in the weekend review this week.

Friday ~ Groceries in the morning, was able to finally get the lawn mower started on my own, so cut the grass. Finished painting my side units for my window seat (primed them earlier in the week)


Now just waiting for them to fully dry, so I can put things on the shelves, and hopefully get pics of the whole room makeover posted soon!

Did some light housework, warmed up dinner for the hubby, then over to Robyn's for girls night! We ordered Chinese, then sat around the fire for the night.



Saturday ~ Used up the remainder of the ripe bananas to make banana pudding! YUM! We decided to go on a small road trip, along the shore line of Lake Michigan. It turned out to be shorter than we had planned, as Lici wasn't really loving the car ride.

I loved the reaction I got out of my hubby as I was coming out of the bathroom after I finished getting ready for our day date. "You like nice, really nice" - I may have been over dressed for just a car ride, but I didn't care. Its nice to dress up every now and then (plus we were going out to eat once we got back and dropped off the dog).

Awesome hair day!




After dinner we went to K-Mart to check on a patio table. The price I saw was an online only price, so I had to do the purchase online, then wait 20ish minutes until the whole process was complete. So we went over to Lowe's, where J got a drill bit and I picked up some clay pots for a project I want to make for the new patio table!

Sunday ~ church in the morning, lunch at my favorite place (Bud n Stanley's), home for a nap. Went to Joann's to pick up supplies for the patio table project. Worked on my flower curtain, until I ran out of yarn - sigh. Watched a movie with my hubby.

Monday ~ Memorial Day. Made breakfast, went and returned a few things to Lowe's, picked up different pots for my floral arrangement, and some yarn. Stopped at Verizon to see what was going on with my phone. Once home, made these cute floral/candle arrangement for my new patio table that we put together to day.


Grilled some burgers to go with tater salad and mixed fruit for dinner. And now that its 5pm, I am finally sitting down for the day/night.

For Today... May 11th, 2015

Outside my window... Oh how I long to sit out here at this time of day, when its still quiet. Its been rainy and damp for the last week; I just want to get out there and spruce up the deck and yard!


I am thinking... that I need to get up and get moving...lots of laundry to get to today (bedding and blankets always makes for a heavy day

I am thankful... for my boys. They have grown up into a couple of good looking, caring young men!


I am wearing... blue capri yoga pants and a white/gray/purple/teal zip up hoodie

I am creating... crochet: same projects; putting my craft room together

I am going... to be doing some binge watching as my oldest hooked me up with lots of movies and some TV shows yesterday!

I am reading... nothing at the moment

I am hoping... that the weather is nice this week, as we need to get the lawn mowed, its turning into a jungle out there.

I am learning... that I just don't have the knack for making homemade bread. Last weeks try was a flop again! I guess its time I invest in a bread maker. I may have to look for one at a thrift store.

In my garden... nothing going on at the moment.

Monday ~ lasagna, garlic bread and a salad
Tuesday ~ leftovers
Wednesday ~ eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast
Thursday ~ pizza
Friday ~ hamburgs and fries

A peek into one of my days... What my Friday's look like when I get home from the grocery store from now until Fall ~ the kitty attacks the bag that has the strawberries in it.


One of my favorite things... I love this time of year, when we have fresh fruit. I will cut up a big bowl that will last us most of the week. For dinners and lunches. It will last longer now, as its just the hubby and I at home. watermelon, cantelope, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and pineapple


A few plans for the rest of the week:
Monday ~ laundry and housework, possibly getting some highlights in my hair, painting in my craft room if my hubby gets my side units finished
Tuesday ~ painting if not done on Monday, working in my craft room
Wednesday ~ work
Thursday ~ work
Friday ~ grocery shopping, and highlights if not done on Monday, maybe girls night at my friends
Saturday ~ if weather is nice: yard work, maybe a bike ride with the hubby
Sunday ~ church, lunch, vegging with my hubby

Friday ~ The usual Friday thing....groceries in the morning. Then a trip to Zeeland for a haircut. I am so glad my stylist is back from Florida! I love my new haircut!


Christopher stopped over, and stayed for dinner and watched some of the Tigers with John.

Saturday ~ I slept in! Getting up early all week has taken a toll on me! Off to the store to try and find what I wanted to make my own desk for my craft room....struck out again! Grrrr So instead I stopped at Michaels and picked ups some cotton yarn for some goodies I want to make to have some stock on hand.

Then stopped at a few stores looking for the hair products "Big Sexy Hair", didn't have the best of luck. Finally went in to a Great Clips and they had one bottle left of the powder play. As costly as it is, I was so hoping that it worked like the gal in the video said it does!

Later went back out with John to pick up some primer so he could start back on the kitchen cabinets, then stopped at Olive Garden to pick up some dinner.

Sunday ~ Church in the morning. And I love the hair products! They worked awesome! A good hair day!! Grilled some steaks for lunch. Started the laundry, as I will be getting tires put on John's car in the morning, and don't want to be doing laundry late into the day tomorrow.

Weekend in Review

Friday ~ After John left for work, it was off to the grocery store. Once home I spent the day in my craft room working on this project for part of the mini make over to my craft room.




We had fish, rice and corn for dinner, then watched a movie, "Vice" with Bruce Willis. It was an ok movie.

Saturday ~ Slept in, made breakfast, lounged around, then headed out on a mission to try and find a white desk/table for my craft room. No luck. I am thinking I am either going to have to order it online, or go back to IKEA. I did stop at a Arts and Crafts store, and got info on renting a booth to display my crochet items, instead of going the craft show route, just need to run an idea by a friend to see if she wants to go in on it with me.

Back home to get dinner started to find out that there was no gas in the grill. Off to Ace we went; checked out the possibility of getting a new grill, but they were crazy expensive, so just filled the tank. We grilled some brats, had tater salad, macaroni salad and beans for dinner. John went to downstairs to practice, and I did my nails and binged watched Homeland on the Watchathon on ONDEMAND (wish I would have known that we had it starting on the 6th! I could have gotten at least two seasons watched, I will have to get the rest from the video store).


Sunday ~ Church in the morning, then off to Red Robin for lunch to get my free burger. We walked around the mall, stopped in at Aeropostale to see Christopher, talked for a few, picked out a scarf for him to get me for my birthday (won't get it until Tuesday when he stops over).

We went to Guitar center, looked around for a bit for John, then went into the keyboard area. I am just a little spoiled ~ my hubby bought me a keyboard for my birthday! Love my guy!!


Its so nice... so many things to learn on it, let alone play it! I am so excited!

It was a fun weekend....one more day - my actual birthday, then the celebrations can be put to rest for another year.

For Today... April 6th, 2015

Outside my window... The sun is shining, its 55°... gorgeous out!

I am thinking... That I may have overdid it on with all of the cleaning I did this morning. My back is starting to hurt again.

I am thankful... for the time spent with family yesterday at my inlaws.

I am wearing... purple yoga pants, a long sleeve white t-shirt and a pink/purplish tank top

I am creating... the never ending afghan, and still working on the curtains from last week

I am going... to the grocery store in a few minutes.

I am wondering... how its going to feel once it sinks in that my baby is old enough to be out on his own!! This past weekend he and his friend moved into their supervisor's apartment for the summer. They are subleasing it, while he is out of the country for the summer, then have plans to find a place with two other friends in the fall.

I am reading... I am still reading "Capturing The Prodigal's Heart" by Mary Easton. (right now just reading a few pages each night before I slip off into dream land.


I am hoping... that I will be able to bowl at least one game tomorrow with my friend and her boys -- its our Spring Break tradition

One of my favorite things... finding the perfect candle..... I have been looking for a candle to go with my comforter set.. it had to match the color scheme, and smell wonderful as well! Its just the right shade of reddish/purple and a black cherry scent!!
