Weekend in Review

Friday ~ Grocery shopping, ran some errands, stopped at the vet, then home to work on all of the last minute items for the craft show. Made dinner, then headed to the church to set up for the craft show.

Saturday ~ Craft show with Kim. It was a profitable day, so that was a bonus! Went and picked up dinner, then vegged the rest of the night with the hubby.

Sunday ~ Church in the morning, out for lunch, then home where we vegged for awhile, then worked on the countertops! They look so nice! I was finally able to put things back.. just need to put the microwave back and then get the dining room cleaned up and remove the extra table!

Friday ~ Long, long day..... first had to take John to work, as my truck was out of commission due to the accident from the day before. I needed a car, as I had to take Lulu to the vet. Which didn't happen until 5, so plans changed with Trent being the one to possible go pick him up from work. I went and got my hair cut and did some errands. Hung out with the boys until it was time to go to the vet.

The outcome was pretty much what I had expected, as she was just to sick to come out of this. We said goodbye to our sweet, sweet Lulu. Rest in peace pretty girl.



Saturday ~ Halloween. Grocery shopping in the morning, then crocheted for the day while John worked on my truck. Both rear shocks had to be replaced, and then he saw that the exhaust had some damage, so that will have to be replaced as well.

I passed out candy, then hung out with my hubby for the night.

Sunday ~ church in the morning, has a great lunch of ribs, roasted red skin potatoes and green beans. Took a nap, and crocheted while waiting for The Walking Dead to come one.

Started my Christmas shopping today

I was out and about after getting my haircut this morning, as I needed some retail therapy. I found a few things for the boys that will be the little items, they are both wanting big $$ items...ugh. I have somethings I am getting from LTD as well for them and my hubby, and some things for myself as well.

I had been doing some browsing online for some jewelry, as I am still wanting a family ring. I can't find the one that I wanted a few years ago, and that bums me out, as it was so pretty. And now that I have been browsing, I keep seeing ads pop up on different sites I go to on a regular basis for masonic rings from Joy Jewelers. This bothers me in a way, as I don't like that I am being "tracked" in a sense while browsing the net. Do any of you see this as well?

I have homemade things to complete as well. I think I will be once again working on these right up until the big day!

Friday ~ I had John's car, as his brakes were making a horrible grinding sound....it was just safer for him to take my truck to work, as I only had to go out for groceries. I worked on crochet projects for the day. Once John got home, he mowed the lawn and got things ready for him to do his brakes first thing in the morning.

Saturday ~ I made us some turnovers for breakfast, then John went to work on his brakes. After we had dinner we cleared out the kitchen (again), and got ready to start the countertops! Still fearing the unknown.. but you have to start somewhere!

I am so very pleased with how they turned out!!

Sunday ~ church in the morning, then lunch at Bud n Stanely's, a little shopping at Goodwill; then I went to Walmart to pick up an area rug that I found on clearance. After a brief nap, we went back to work in the kitchen. After a light sanding, we started putting on the polyurethane. Its going to take several coats I do believe. We are putting the sink back in place, as I can't go much longer without running water in the kitchen!

For Today... September 21st, 2015

Outside my window...Day is just starting to break, its a cool 46 degrees outside, with a high of 70 in the forecast with sunny skies. Perfect Fall day!

I am thinking... about way to many things right now, and that tends to be a little crazy... I need to clear my head/thoughts!

I am thankful... for lazy Sunday afternoons... the house projects can wait!

I am wearing... black yoga pants and a new gray hoodie with the word love on it in sparkly glitter.

I am creating... still working on crochet projects for the craft show

I am going... to be sticking to home this week (outside of going to work on Wed/Thurs), and getting things organized, and hopefully ready for us to redo the kitchen counter tops.

I am wondering... about all of the things going through my head

Friday ~ Grocery shopping in the morning, once put away, it was then off to run some errands. The rest of the day consisted of crocheting and doing some light housework. I took a later than normal nap, and woke to a text from the hubby saying he was on his way home. Hung out with him for the night.

Saturday ~ Lazy morning, early afternoon; then it was off to Detroit for a Tiger's game. It was a fun game, and glad that they won..in extra innings none the less. They had an awesome fireworks show, that we have a very up close viewing outside the park gates (we didn't plan on staying as it was late and we had a two hour drive home...but stayed outside the gates so I could film a few minutes of it!!)





Sunday ~ church in the morning, then home to veg. We both needed a nap after getting home around 2ish the night before. Not much got done around the house, but that will keep until tomorrow and the rest of the week.

House projects

The latest home improvement going on is our kitchen. We have painted the cabinets black, and the walls an antique white. I am contemplating doing an accent wall in the color of red. Next, the countertops. We have one that is 3.5 inches longer than the standard length, so in order to save some money, we are going to use the Rust-o-leum transformation kits, and redo our existing one. I am nervous, but hoping it turns out great.

John thinks that with the money we save, he can get some mini humbuckers. We shall see. I want to get building up our savings and tackle some bills to get us back to where I don't have to work! Plus he wants to sell the house, so I don't think spending any more $$ on extra things should be our focus right now.

With all of the sanding done, and walls painted, I have started to put things back on the walls. Its looking really good in there. Just hope I can say the same after we tackle the countertops!!

Friday ~ Grocery shopping in the morning, did some cleaning and organizing around the house. Hung out at home with the hubby.

Saturday ~ Slept in (I think I have finally caught up on sleep and don't feel so jet lagged!), then headed out to Home Depot to pick out paint for the kitchen. Once home, found out that we weren't just going to paint over the wallpaper, John wanted to take it all down... ugh... so hoping this was a wise choice, as the wallpaper was put up as it hid all of the imperfections in the walls. So that is what I did for the better half of the day, while John painted We took our break from that to shower then head out for a date night.... we went to Outback for dinner (thanks to the hubby's wonderful boss with the generous gift card!), then a stop at Home Depot again for a few other items.


Sunday ~ church in the morning, a nice Sunday afternoon nap before dinner... of grilled steak, baked potato, corn on the cob and a salad. I went to our Ladies meeting for church, then home to continue on the kitchen project.

For Today... June 8th, 2015

Outside my window... right now its 63 degrees out, and blue skies.

I am thinking... about my upcoming trip to Washingtion state next week. So much to do to get ready before I leave.

I am thankful... that we didn't power last night in the storm.


I am wearing... black capri yoga pants and a purple tank top

I am creating... lots of goodies for the craft show.

I am going... to the store in a little bit, have to get some Clorax toilet brush thingys, and check on a price for a carry on luggage.

I am wondering... how Lici is going to do with me being gone for 5 days.

I am reading... Psalm 119 - this is the last week.

I am hoping... that tomorrow's weather cooperates, so our plans for meeting up with a friend and her kiddos at Lake Michigan.

Stopped at the dollar store to pick up some long envelopes for Junior, plus just a couple of other things (I did restrain myself this time - I have been spending way to much there lately!) Stopped at Wendy's to get him something to eat, the off to his work to drop everything off to him.

A storm is brewing, so in the mood for a good thunderstorm!

Friday ~ Ahhh, back to not working on a Friday! Groceries in the morning, went and got my nails done ~ so pretty


I had an interview, I think it went ok, but not sure I really want this position. We shall see what happens. I am holding out for the interview I had on Tuesday.

The rest of the night I hung out with the hubby, pup and the kitty.

Saturday ~ Worked on some crochet stuff, and finished up a DIY project video, that you can see here. The evening didn't go as planned; we were supposed to go out to dinner, but someone decided to stay sleeping again this weekend. I don't think I am going to plan anymore date nights, its going to be up to him for awhile. I am tired of planning, getting ready and then nothing!

Sunday ~ Church in the morning. We overslept, well I should say the hubby did. I was in a rebellious mood, and decided to not go in and wake, him after the disappointment from last night. It was a very lazy day for me, with not leaving the house, I didn't shower/dress/makeup....nada! I watched a few movies, youtube videos (my new addiction...obsession really), and crocheted the day/night away.

I think Summer has finally arrived!

After working all day, I get home to a very hot and muggy house. Its July 17th, and we have yet to put the window air units in. But that is all going to change tomorrow, as its going to be a very hot, muggy day (worse than today). While I was getting the window areas ready for them, I found that I still have some of the weather king plastic on the window Oops!

I would have liked for them to go in tonight, but its 9:35 pm and my hubby is still not home from work. I don't think I can talk him into at least putting the one in the living room. No matter how much I beg! Its going to be a horrible night of sleep!

Friday ~ Groceries in the morning, picked up a little bit, then went for a walk with Robyn, Cohen and our dogs.



Once home, I worked on some crochet projects, took a small nap, made dinner then headed over to Robyn's. We tried to have a fire, but it was way too windy. So we hung out with Cohen and played Yahtzee.

Saturday ~ Ran some errand with the hubby, then worked on the windows and some crochet projects. Hung out at home binge watching some shows that Christopher got for me.

Sunday ~ church and lunch with the hubby. Home to relax for a while, then it was off to meet up with Mel and Stacey for dinner. So nice to catch up with them.

Friday ~ groceries in the morning, cut up fruit, made fruit salsa, ran some errands, made dinner. Once John was home he mowed the lawn, then we sat out on the deck for a while just relaxing.

Saturday ~ Plans for the weekend changed. Between some not feeling well and car problems for another, the weekend away was cancelled. So we were able to make it to a graduation open house for my husbands boss' son. Then back home so he could help Trent with his brakes. I went and got my nails done and a pedi. Aren't they pretty?? They always do such a great job!


Pizza for dinner, then some browsing through the photo albums.... searching for a particular picture, but not having any luck. But I did see one picture that made me miss when the boys were younger, when I could get them cute little bags with their names on them! One of these days they will grow up and settled down and have babies of their own then I can shop on sites like www.thecrazydazy.com and get cute bags again!!

Sunday ~ Father's Day ~ church in the morning, potluck after church, then over to the inlaws - we grilled burgers and dogs and watched American Sniper. Poor Lici tired herself out. She crashed hard while we were watching the movie, and is out again now that we are home!
