Temperature Afghan ~ Week 35-37

I missed a few weeks, so lets get caught up. Weeks 35 and 36 dipped into the 60's. The cooler Fall weather is upon us. I am ready, but not ready for Fall. Today the temp at noon was 71°. Switched to the Spring green color for this week.

Temp afghan update ~ week 33 and 34

I forgot to post last week, so this week I am doing an update for 2 weeks.
Week 33, the temp was 74 at noon.

Week 34 of 52 ~ temp at noon was 72 degrees .....spring green again. I’ve noticed that each Sunday for Aug. the temp at noon has been lower....Fall is slowly approaching!

Temperature Afghan Week 32 update

We had a bit of cooler weekend, and the temp at noon was 75 degrees on Sunday. So that brought back into play the Spring green color. Having this on my lap as I did the three rows made me all warm an cozy! This is going to be a fun blanket to curl up with on those oh so cold winter days that are soon to come!

Temperature Afghan ~ week 31

Well, its another week of the gold color. I don't think I will see a temp above 89 here on my Sunday only temp afghan. I am loving this so far. Its so warm and cozy. It may be hot outside, but I do get a bit chilled here in the house with our air on. I had the hubs take this weeks pic, as you see its getting quite long. I am ok with it, that just means I will have lots of blanket to curl up in this coming winter!

It seems that we are stuck on gold for yet another week. I don't know if I will see a 90° day/temp at noon on a Sunday. Oh well. Here is this weeks pic of the progress thus far.

Temp afghan ~ week 29

I was hoping for the red to pop up, but alas the noon temp for Sunday (which I looked at around 1:30 ish) was only 83. So stuck on the gold again.

Temperature Afghan ~ Week 28

We are on week 28 of my 52 weeks of working on my temp afghan. I am hoping one of these Sunday's this summer will be over 89 degrees so I can bring in at least 3 rows of red. Sunday was a busy day, so I didn't get a temp at noon, but remembered around 1:30ish, and it was 84, so back to gold. With the busyness of the day I didn't get to work on my three rows until after 9pm. Had this been any other Sunday, I would have just waited and worked on the rows while working on Monday, but this week we are on vacation, so staying up late to complete them was ok! LOL

Temp afghan update

Oh my goodness...I have dropped the ball on this... I planned on posting each Sunday once I completed the day's crochet, but... I failed. So to play catch up.. here are weeks 18-26.... no temps, just the pics. Which brings us up to date - week 27....yesterday's temp at noon was 77 which I finished up today. The weather is crazy here in Michigan...used to seeing much warmer temps for July!

Temperature Afghan ~ week 18

What a gorgeous day to day was here in Michigan! The temp at noon today was 67°. This introduced a new color yet again, the Springy green color.

I need to sit down and take some time and weave in the ends on this first 3rd of the afghan, so I am not overwhelmed in the tedious task when I an finished with it at the end of the year. Weaving in the ends is my least favorite thing do to when crocheting! Ugh!

Temp afghan week 17

Thankfully we didn't get the snow that was predicted! The temp at noon today was 52 degrees. So back to the light blue.

Temp afghan ~ week 16

Week 16 of 52 ~ temp at noon was 60 degrees...back to the green! What a gorgeous Easter Day!

Temp afghan ~ week 15

As we left church today, we were greeted by this:

By the time I got home (which is like a 3 minute drive) this was my back yard

5 hours later, we have about 2 inches of snow....yuck!

Not what I like to have around my birthday! So back to the temp afghan.... the temp at noon was 34°. So that drops me back two colors to the middle blue color. Gotta love the crazy weather temps in Michigan!

Temp Afghan ~ week 14

What a beautiful weekend we had! The temps are warming up, and the snow is gone! I am hoping that Mother Nature doesn't get a bug up her butt and decide to give us another little snow storm... as it has happened in the past.

At noon today the temp was 66° and a bit cloudy, but it was still a great day! With this temp it brought out a new color, yay!

Temp afghan ~ week 13

Mother Nature is playing her up and down games with us. The snow has melted, and we get teased with a warm day, then she says, "Nope, you need to pull back out your winter gear."

Week 12 ~ Temperature Afghan

A group of Michigan women are embracing fiber arts and Michigan's erratic weather through a Facebook group - Michigan Temperature Blanket 2019.



Was kinda cool too see a pic of mine scroll through when they were showing the FB group page!! After watching Julie talk about hers and the meanings of some, I am now wanting to either start a new one for this year and do every day (will still keep up with how I am doing the one I started as well...), or maybe do one for the year each of my boys were born, and do a larger one, not just the lapghan one I am doing right now.

So with that being said, here is week 12

I thought today was going to be the day that I would bring in a new color, but missed it by one degree. Today's temp at noon was 53, so the light blue was pulled back out.

Temperature Afghan update

Oh my gosh... I have failed to post each Sunday on here with the progress on my afghan. I know I do a pic of it on my Monday post in the Happy Homemaker Monday post, but I wanted to try and do a separate post each Sunday. I will try and be be better at this. So with that said, I will share in this post weeks 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. I am still loving this afghan, the colors are perfect, but I am ready for the warmer temps to start any day!!! Winter has been long, this girl needs the sun!

Week 6 - temp at noon was 24 degrees...back to the darker teal

Week 7 - temp at noon was 23 degrees...so another week of the darker teal.


Week 8- temp at noon was 33 degrees...back to a medium blue. It's really windy here today and temps are dropping, will be in the teens overnight.

Week 9 - temp at noon was 22 degrees...back to my favorite color..purple! I am ready to start moving to the warmer colors now!

Week 10 - temp at noon was 37 degrees...back to the aqua

Week 11 - temp at noon was 30 degrees...back to the teal. I love these colors, but I'm ready to venture into my other colors!

Oh and before I forget, there will be a news clip of our temp afghans on a local station here in Michigan. I was so hoping I could be there, but that pesky thing called a "job" kept me from going...boo. I will have a link in my post on Sunday to it, I can't wait to see how Julie did in the interview!! Week 5 ~ temperature afghan

Its Superbowl, and we are having a heat wave after this past weeks frigid temps. It was a balmy 45°. So this brought in the 4th color of light blue to the rotation. I am still hoping to get in a few for "3" rows of purple before the warmer temp colors take over.

Week 4 ~ temperature afghan

First month is complete! We are still in the purple stage of the color scheme. Today at noon it was 10°. I am really loving these three colors together. I am thinking about doing a granny square afghan with them. As busy as today was, I am still glad I was able to complete my three rows.

Week 3 ~Temperature Afghan

OH my gosh... this weekend Winter decided to dump on us all at once! Yesterday brought the snow, 4 inches; and today the bitter cold temps... in the teens - temp for the afghan was at 15° that steadily dropped to at this exact moment its 1°. Brrr We will be dipping into the negative temps overnight that will linger to the midday on Monday. We have been seeing lots of school closures scroll across the bottom of the TV screen, due to the wind chill advisory for tomorrow.

I was able to bring in the purple skein of yarn, and will probably be the color for the next few weeks, as the cold temps are here to stay for a bit. I don't mind.. not the temps, but that I can use purple... my favorite color.

Week 2 of the temp afghan

Week 2 is complete. The temp at noonish was 29°. So a new blue color went on the hook. While watching the playoff games I whipped out the next three rows. I am a member of a few facebook groups and love seeing everyone's afghans so far. I am really liking how some are doing granny squares, and or circles.... I am thinking that I am going to to use one of the sites to get the temps for the year the each of my boys were born, and when I got married and do afghans for those 3 years as well. I wish I would have heard about this type of afghan before! I am going to be one busy gal!!
