Weekend in Review
Weekend rewind. If you want to play along, grab the above button and tell me all about your weekend!
Friday ~ Went grocery shopping then called the Drs to get an appt for Trent, his cold/sickness had gone on long enough. They diagnosed him with the flu, and to push the fluids. If he couldn't keep the fluids down, then we were to bring him to the ER. As the day/night went on his cough got worse, but he was able to keep the fluids down.
Saturday ~ I did my usual baking, and kept on Trent to keep drinking the fluids and to try and eat more. It was a very quiet day around our house... well outside of the coughing.
Sunday ~ John and I went to church, then stopped to get more gatorade for Trent. I made a yummy dinner of BBQ country style ribs in the crock pot, green bean casserole, baked potatoes and rolls... Trent attempted to eat, but just couldn't stomach it. He had fallen asleep on the couch, and listening to him, he was making a very weird moaning/groaning sound, but I let him sleep a little longer, but then woke him up so I could give him some Nyquil so he (and I) could get some sleep without the coughing. The walk to the kitchen (not far at all), did him in. He sank to the floor in a fit of coughs, to where he couldn't catch his breath. I didn't know if my mind was playing tricks on me, but I thought his chest kind of caved in; I called John upstairs to see if we should bring him in.
We put in a call to the Dr, and finally got a call back, and the nurse felt it would be in our best interest to go get him checked out. Off to St. Mary's we went. Not a long wait, as soon as we were back in the room, they took him for a chest x-ray. The respiratory therapist came in and listened to his lungs, and said she is thinking pneumonia, and got a breathing treatment set up. This helped bring his oxygen levels up really fast (he was at 90 and should be at a 98). The more he walked, exerted himself, he had trouble breathing. There was talk of admitting him, but had one more test to do, a walking stat. They took him on a walk, and once he was back his levels were below 90, so that was protocol for him to be admitted, but we had to go over to Devos Children's hospital, as that is where anyone under 18 had to go. So we were able to drive him over ourselves, to save on an ambulance bill...
We finally got settled and crashed sometime after 3 am.

Monday ~ John and I left so he could shower and go to work, and me to grab the power cords and laptop, did a few errands and back up I went. There was talk of him coming home today, but that didn't happen. He had a few setbacks, so they decided to keep him one more night.
John decided he was going to stay overnight, as we both were feeling guilty with us leaving him for the night, and felt like we were dumping him on his brother to pick him up tomorrow. I know that C could handle it, but the parent guilt just took over. Luckily Johns boss is ok with this, and just put in for a few vacation days for him.
For now, I am beyond exhausted, and will be heading to bed... my oh so comfy bed... last night was a rough night on the pull out couch/bed in the room.
What did you do this weekend? Let me know if you play along!
