Saturday 9 ~ Birthday

Birthday
You can see the others that participate in this fun meme at
Saturday 9.

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

BIRTHDAY (2014)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) In this song, Katy Perry sings that she wants to give her lover something good to celebrate every day. What is making you happy this fine Saturday? the weather...the snow is finally starting to melt!

2) The video is all about baking a birthday cake. When did you most recently enjoy something home baked? Were you the baker? this week,I made some homemade biscuits for dinner

3) Tell us a memory from one of your birthdays. my 50th.... I "ran away" and went on a girls weekend with my best friend... we went to St. Louis for her daughter's volleyball tournament.

4) This week's song shares nothing but the title with a Beatles song. (Here's a video of Paul McCartney performing it live..) Can you think of another title that's been used by more than one song? I can't think of any right now

5) Similarly, this week's featured artist was born Kathryn Hudson and called Katy Hudson until she changed her name to Katy Perry to avoid confusion with the actress Kate Hudson. Have you ever met anyone else with your same name? no

6) Katy and actor Orlando Bloom became parents to a baby girl in 2020. Bloom is best known for his work in the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Are you a fan of either of those film series? not really

7) In 2014, the year this song was popular, Prince William toured the United States and attended his first NBA game (Nets vs. Cavaliers). What's the most recent sporting event that you watched? the superbowl

8) Also in 2014, Joan Rivers died. While best-known for making us laugh, she was a very successful entrepreneur, selling jewelry on QVC. Have you ever ordered anything from TV? a few times..... the last couple of things I have sent back, as they just weren't all that

9) Random question -- Have you ever been told you talk too much? no

  1. I never could make homemade biscuits.
I have tried but they were terrible. I had to throw them away.
I love your girls weekend with your best friend.
    Have a great day.

  2. My favorite grandmother made the best biscuits. They were my favorite part of her holiday dinners. Thank you for reminding me of that happy memory.

  4. I made biscuits once when I was about 10. I beat the rise out of them and they were flat and hard. My parents thought it was hilarious.

  5. Your girls trip sounds great! I have a picture of Josh and I in that exact same place. We were on our way to a baseball game. The stadium is right by there. Loved your answers. Have a nice weekend.

  6. That Girl's Getaway is the perfect 50th BD! Biscuit making is truly an art.
I watched QVC in the very early days but the interest faded away.
I'm going to start baking again. I used to make all our bread and tortillas back in the 60' through the 70's. i.e. in the old days. Having found so many pared down bread recipes on Pinterest, looks like it's time to do it all again.

  7. That is great that you go to get away with your friend for your 50th! Home made biscuits sounds great to me, especially if they have lots of butter on them!
