NATIONAL STRAWBERRY DAY
You can read more Fun Facts over at Terri's blog for the original post for this week.

1. Given all that information on this 🍓National Strawberry Day🍓, do you have a favorite recipe for strawberries? Would you share it with us? My favorite strawberry recipe to make is: Strawberry Shortcake.
2. Some people think the smaller, northern varieties are sweeter than the larger berries that grow in the south and in California. What are your thoughts on that? I don't really know. I do love the strawberries I get from Krupp Farms here in Michigan... can't wait to make strawberry jam!!
3. There is a Strawberry Festival right here in Plant City, Florida (next town over from Lakeland) and it is a huge event that lasts 11 days with headliner acts each day. Have you ever been to a Strawberry Festival? I have not.
4. Strawberries are grown in every US state. Have you ever grown them in your garden? Nope
5. Strawberry is the only fruit that has seeds on the outside, and technically it is not a berry but rather a fruit, and would you be surprised to learn that strawberries belong to the rose family? Do you have any strawberry trivia to share with us? I am surprised that they belong to the rose family. Fun fact: There are 200 seeds on an average strawberry.
6. Tell us something random about your week!! Its a short work week here for us, as we are taking the last half of the week off to work on my craft room floor. New hard wood laminate flooring is happening! Can't wait! The hubs doesn't know it yet, but we will kick off the little mini staycation with a breakfast date!
What fun!! New flooring! I just completed min myself and I love my floor so very much! You will be thrilled when it is done! What a great way to start it out - fueling with a breakfast date! Enjoy! Annster's Domain
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the completed project!! Now to decide where we are going... Bob Evans or IHOP...
DeleteBreakfast dates can be the most fun. It looks like you are also experiencing more snow and ice this week. My son and his family live just a mile from the southern Michigan border in Indiana but are thankfully missing this latest weather event. We were up there for the Polar Vortex. This southern gal loved it!
ReplyDeleteLove when we have a breakfast date! Today was snowy.. and the hubs told me his drive in to work was a little tricky.. it was a drizzly/rain/ice, the defrost and wipers couldn't keep up with it. I am ready for the warm, sunny weather!
DeleteI'm sure you'll be so excited to fix up your craft room! I wish National Strawberry Day were a little later in the year - I don't think I'll find really fresh strawberries under all this snow! LOL
ReplyDeleteI am! Just hope there won't be too many arguments between the two of us.. lol I wish it was a little later as well.. so store bought berries it is for now!
DeleteWe did hardwood floor laminate in our kitchen a few years ago and it has been such a great decision. It is so pretty and easy to take care of. My husband put it down in no time. I am so excited for you!!! Have fun! Loved your answers! Have a nice week.
