Again another fun meme that I participated in a while back... and decided to get back into blogging more. Head on over to Sunday Stealing to see what others have to say.
Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT:
The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. You may have heard the expression, “honor among thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from, if possible. We also provide a link to the victim's questions in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from recently asked questions from a previously post. Cheers to all of us thieves!
Last week we talked about thing that bug us. This week (and maybe next), how about things that we like about the holidays.
Apologies if you do not celebrate Christmas, but perhaps you can change the some questions to match the winter holiday you do celebrate. I would love to hear from people who celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanza, or Winter Solstice!
1. What’s your favorite thing about the holidays? spending time with family
2. Do you send out Christmas cards and if so how many do you send? I do, this year I sent out about 100 or so, I am in a Snail Mail Club - trying to bring back the love of letter writing
3. Be honest: holiday newsletters. Love ‘em or hate ‘em? they are ok
4. Be honest: photo cards. Love ‘em or hate ‘em? Love them
5. How soon do you start shopping? I used to be one that had mine all done before Thanksgiving, but the last few years I am one of those last minute shoppers
6. Real or fake tree? fake, can't handle all of the needles that fall on the floor!
7. When do you put up your tree? after Thanksgiving, and usually the first weekend in December
8. When do you take down your tree? usually the day after Christmas, but this year it will be up until Jan 6th, and will be put away then when I am home for vacation
9. Describe your typical tree (size, decorations, type) Its a 7 foot tree, and its decorated in purple and silver
10. What do you top your tree with? an angel
11. Do you put Christmas lights outside your house? no
12. Is there a wreath hanging on your door? yep, one on the front door and another on our side door
13. Do you hang up stockings? I do
14. Your favorite Christmas Movie(s) A Christmas Story, Elf, Santa Claus (with Tim Allen),
15. Be honest: A Christmas movie you hate I don't think there is one I hate
16. Favorite Christmas Song(s) Silent Night, Mary Did You Know
17. Be honest: If I hear this/these Christmas songs again I will throw up Grandma got run over by a reindeer
18. Give or Receive? give
19. Eggnog or Mulled Cider? mulled cider
20. Ham or Turkey? both!

Good for you for sending out cards. I hate that this tradition is dying. I no longer get back half as many as I send out, but I send them anyway. People need to know you're thinking of them. As in real thoughts, not just FB likes.
ReplyDeleteI hate that the tradition is dying as well, but so glad to have a few in the snail mail group that I write to on a monthly basis! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI love the idea of a letter writing club. I used to write many long letters to friends and family and enjoyed getting them in return. I guess I gave that up when I stopped getting any in return. It's a shame all of the younger generations won't know the thrill of opening the mailbox to find a real letter addressed to them.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to give my granddaughters that thrill and write to them several times a month. I have occasionally even gotten a reply from the oldest one (who is 9). I hope when they get older they will appreciate "real" letters
DeleteI agree about the younger generation not knowing the joy of finding a fun letter in the mailbox. I so loved getting them in my younger years, and was sad that the one I wrote to often stopped writing when email came to be. I prefer the good ole fashion pen/paper!! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteEverybody hates "Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer." I guess I just like off-beat Christmas songs. You probably never heard of "The Santa Rhumba" or "The Grassy Knoell"
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of the other 2 you mentioned, and will now have to look them up. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYour tree photo is very pretty. What a lovely combination.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThat's a beautiful tree.
ReplyDeleteWe just watched Santa Clause II. It was fun.
Merry Christmas, Jodi, And Safe Travels!
Thanks! Have you seen the 3rd one in this series? Its not my favorite. So ready for my trip!! Merry Christmas!! Thanks for stopping by!
