Happy Homemaker Monday

Brr... the last few mornings its been down in the 50's. Yesterday never got warmer that 55°! Working on my temp afghan was so nice and cozy!! I love Fall... but boy do I miss Summer!! I am not ready to put up the flip flops! Granted, I don't stop wearing my flip flops until the first snowfall.

The weekend went by way to fast! With the hubs working (the 11th Saturday in a row), we didn't have much time together. We did finally get a date night, went to dinner and then furniture shopping. I think I have the set picked out I want. I had my heart set on a sectional, but after looking at all that was out there, it just wasn't what I had wanted, or way bigger than our space will allow. So I switched gears and will be going back to a couch and loveseat. I will miss my chaise, but the older I get, the harder it is to get out of it. And not to mention the furniture we have now is so darn heavy, its hard for me to rearrange when I get the urge.

Now let's get onto the HHM post! (I will be late getting to everyone's post, I have to go onsite to work this week, so no down time inbetween calls to read everyone's posts.

I am linking up with Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. Head on over to find some other great bloggers.

For Today... Sept. 30th, 2019

The weather...Its 57°.... And the high of 83° for today. That's a big hike in the temp, we shall see if it happens.

As I look outside my window...its still dark...and a bit too chilly to go out and snap a pic... lol

On my bedside table... my alarm clock, Kindle, iPad and a journal

On my reading pile... Letting Go of Perfect by Amy E Speigel - is the one I have started out of the 3, so far its good (but I'm not all that far into it as of yet)

Movies or Shows I watched this weekend... Netflix - binged season 3 of Glitch

On my TV...911, The Resident, This Is Us, the Chicago series -Fire/Med/PD, New Amsterdam, Greys, A Million Little Things, Blue Bloods, The Rookie... and a few new series to throw into the pile Emergence All Rise, Stumptown

On the menu for this week...
Monday ~ lasagna rolls and garlic bread
Tuesday ~ pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn and rolls
Wednesday ~ breakfast
Thursday ~ pizza
Friday ~ fish, rice and corn
Saturday ~ I will be in Ohio, so the hubs will be having leftovers
Sunday ~ I will be on my way home from Ohio, so I am thinking I will be stopping and picking up something on the way home for us (I usually get home around the 6 o'clock hr)

In the craft basket... working on a temperature afghan, week 39 of 52 completed, worked on the gnomes cross stitch, and the portrait cross stitch

Happening this week:
Monday ~ work, work out
Tuesday ~ work work out
Wednesday ~ work
Thursday ~ housework, craft day, Lici to groomer, errands
Friday ~ groceries, take the hubs to his eye doc appt, get things ready for the Ohio weekend
Saturday ~ Ohio
Sunday ~ Ohio

Looking around the house... I see one more basket of laundry that needs folded, and blankets to be folded and put back in place, for the time being, as Lici will have them strewn all about in no time.

From the camera... Pics of the pup and the hubs while watching the Lions, a Sunrise from this past Wednesday and a project share, and a selfie with one of the snapchat filters

What I'm wearing today... gray leggings and a gray tshirt that I purchased off of one of those FB sponsered ad posts.

One of my simple pleasures... Lazy Sunday's curled up under a nice cozy afghan

A favorite Bible verse, devotion or quote for today...

On my prayer list... For Jonathon (a church friend) - he has been transferred to a rehab facility, still a long road of recovery for him.

In closing...Thank you for stopping by. I hope your week ahead is filled with lots of blessings!

  1. I had to respond to your opening comment... The last soafa we bought was during the major furniture store sale and we really needed a new sofa for the den.. But they all looked so huge I didn't like any of them We finally found one tht seemed smaller so we bought it.. Well, we ahd to take the frame off all the doors to get it into the house and even then the delifvery man tore the back of it getting it into the den. Someone from the store had to come to the hose to fix it. NOw I just want it out of there after only about 6 or 7 years.. I am redoing the sunroom and want to put that sofa in the den. We dread the ordeal of getting it out!. Hope your furniture plans work out better than ours!!

  3. We had a sofa drama here too. Ordered a sectional in three pieces, only two arrived on delivery day. Piece number three took four more deliveries before it was finally available - one truck break down, one missed appointment, one delivery attempt but the piece was damaged, and then a second attempt to delivery the SAME damaged piece! Crazy but it's all here now and I hear you about trying to get out of a chaise. Makes you remember every one of your years! Have a great week.

  4. We've been having frost warnings and those very cool nights too. Too funny how you and I both equate the weather change with putting away the flip flops! I ADORE your inspiration!! Absolutely adorable photos of the pup too. Have a GREAT week.

  5. Hope you enjoy your new furniture! I've been itching to replace our sofas, never again with a reclining couch for us plus we did the sectional thing and it only fits one way in our living room. I miss being able to change things around a bit. Beautiful sunrise photo. Hope you have a great week!
