You can see the others that participate in this fun meme at Saturday 9.
Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: Valentine (1993)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
This song was specially chosen for the Saturday 9 closest to Valentine's Day.
1) This is a love song written by Willie Nelson for his young son. Have you sent any Valentines this year to someone you love who isn't a romantic partner? I sent a snapchat to my boys
2) Today that little boy, Lukas, is a singer/songwriter who wrote eight of the songs for the 2018 A Star Is Born soundtrack. Have you seen the Bradley Cooper/Lady Gaga big screen romance? no
3) On Valentine's Day in 1876, Alexander Graham Bell patented the first telephone. Who did you most recently speak to on the phone? I don't talk much on the phone for personally talk... Mon/Tues/Wed I answer/schedule procedure appointments so I talk to patients on those day... and if I remember.. I think I talked to a coworker on the cell phone to vent about a stupid email we received!
4) Penicillin was also introduced on Valentine's Day (in 1929). When you get a shot, do you look away when the needle touches your skin? yes.. always!
5) According to legend, a gift of red roses signifies love and romance. When did you last purchase flowers or plants? Did you buy them for yourself, or someone else? last Mother's Day, for my mother inlaw
6) This week's artist, Willie Nelson, can trace his family tree back to the Revolutionary War. Captain John Nelson served with the Minutemen back in 1776. If you could go back in time to witness any great moment in American history, which would you choose? not really sure... I am not a history buff... so nothing comes to mind
7) Before he became a musical success, Willie was a door-to-door salesman, peddling first Bibles, then vacuum cleaners. INC magazine tells us that the traits of successful salespeople include resilience and good listening skills. Do you think you'd make a good sales person? eh, not really.. I have been with several different home based businesses over the years, and never really was pushy enough to make repeat sales. I love all the products I sold, but just couldn't make it profitable.
8) In 1993, when this song came out, Saved by the Bell aired its series finale. Crazy Sam likes to tease her brother because he once admitted to her that he has seen all 86 episodes of this teen sitcom. Is there a show that you believe you've seen every episode? yes... Son's Of Anarchy...
9) Random question -- We're having milkshakes! What's your favorite flavor? strawberry

I guess everyone loves strawberries Great answers. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet, sending flowers to your mother in law.
ReplyDeleteVry sweet to remembr your MIL so lovingly... I agree, salesmen need that pushy gene which I do not think I have unless Im pushing Hubs to do something!!!
ReplyDeleteI am not a pushy person either. I would make a terrible salesman. Loved your answers! Have a great weekend!

I'm not a pushy person, either, but there are ways to sell things that aren't pushy. You just have to figure out your own style. And have a good product.
ReplyDeleteI agree you have to be pushy to be good at sales and that isn't me either.
ReplyDeleteI always forget about the strawberry flavor.
I had the same problem with the home based businesses...Avon, DoTerra, photo books, Park Lane jewelry...just not pushy enough at all.
